EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AT AUMC

    

 SUNDAY MORNING CLASSES

 

Sunday Morning Classes begin at 10:50 a.m.   Classes are arranged by age group as follows:

        Pre-school

        Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2

        Grade 3 and Grade 4

        Grade 5 and Grade 6

        Junior High

        High School

        Young Adult

        Adult

        Bible Study which is being taught by Pastor Bruce

 

  

 

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

 

Our Vacation Bible School is held in early June after school is finished for the year.  It is a cooperative VBS with St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Arcola.  We welcome children from any denomination as well as those who do not regularly attend a church.  VBS begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 a.m.

Each day’s plan includes crafts, music, Bible based story-telling, an activity period and refreshments. During the music session, children practice the songs that they will share with their parents on the following Sunday.  On that Sunday, the children present their songs to first one church’s congregation and then walk across the street to present their songs to the other church’s congregation.  After church, refreshments are shared by all parents.

In a typical VBS year, we have over ninety children involved, and our teachers, aids, and volunteers come from both congregations.  We have found this to be a wonderful way to share the Lord’s word with the children and adults of our community.





SMALL GROUP MEETINGS

 

We have small groups who usually meet in each other's homes to study God's word and his plan for living.  Contact the church office for more information.
