is appropriate for their age group. After their "special
sermon" from the minister, they are dismissed to go to Children's Church
with their teacher.
m
CHILDREN'S CHURCH
Children's Church is for children ages preschool through 2nd
grade and is held in a classroom during the worship service.
mVACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Our
Vacation Bible School is held in early June after school is finished
for the year It is a cooperative VBS with St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church of Arcola. We welcome children from any
denomination as well as those who do not regularly attend a church.
VBS begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m.
Each day’s plan includes crafts, music, Bible based
story-telling, an activity period and refreshments. During the music session,
children practice the songs that they will share with their parents on the
following Sunday. On that Sunday, the children present their songs to
first one church’s congregation and then walk across the street to
present their songs to the other church’s congregation. After
church, refreshments are shared by all parents.
In a typical VBS year, we have over ninety children involved,
and our teachers, aids, and volunteers come from both congregations. We
have found this to be a wonderful way to share the Lord’s word with the
children and adults of our community.
SMALL
GROUP MEETINGS FOR ADULTS
We have small groups who usually meet in each other's homes
to study God's word and his plan for living. Contact the church office
for more information.
