OPPORTUNITIES FOR FELLOWSHIP AT AUMC

Arcola United Methodist Men - Among the purposes for Arcola’s United Methodist Men are: (1) to involve men in a growing relationship to Jesus Christ and His church; (2) to provide resources and support for programs of evangelism focused on the needs of men; (3) to provide resources and programs in the area of stewardship; (4) to provide models and support for Annual Conference and local church United Methodist Men organizations.

United Methodist Women - The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.  The Women's Division shall be actively engaged in fulfilling the mission of Christ and the Church and shall interpret the purpose of United Methodist Women.  With continuing awareness of the concerns and responsibilities of the Church in today's world, the Women's Division shall be an advocate for the oppressed and dispossessed with special attention to the needs of women and children; shall work to build a supportive community among women; and shall engage in activities that foster growth in the Christian faith, mission education, and Christian social involvement.

First Sunday Circle - One of the groups of the United Methodist Women is the First Sunday Circle.  This group meets on the First Sunday of every month.

Faith Fellowship Circle – Another of the United Methodist Women’s groups is the Faith Fellowship Circle.  It meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 1:30 p.m.

M.Y.F. stands for Methodist Youth Fellowship and is the high school and junior high school ministry of the United Methodist Church.  It is an opportunity for youth of the community to join in fellowship and service as part of our community.

F.R.O.G. stands for Fully Rely On God and the club is for all children in third through sixth grade who would like to join us for Christian fun and fellowship.   The club meets from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of each month except for June and November.  A meal is served.  Activities are planned which are enjoyable and often the results of those activities help others.  For instance, a recent scavenger hunt involved collecting food items which were then donated to the Arcola Food Pantry!  A child does not have to attend the Arcola United Methodist Church to participate.  All are welcome!

Small Group Meetings – Small group meetings of approximately fifteen to twenty people are held to study God’s plan for our lives and problems faced in daily living.  They often meet in one another’s homes.  To join one of the groups call the church office for more information.
